OA News: September 21-29, 2013
September 29, 2013 » NewsNo Comment
Over the past week, we’ve found 126 stories of how mobile, internet, and technology in general are changing lives in 27+ African nations. We find more than usual from Algeria, Egypt, Rwanda, and Senegal. Getting substantial attention is the use of social media before, during, and after the Westgate attack in Kenya. Stories on Nigerian e-commerce continue to emerge in force (but government statements on broadband/ICT are sounding more and more like rhetoric). Sudan’s internet outage during protests on September 25-26 is also notable.
